Saturday was such a lovely day that I just had to get out on my bicycle Roamiette and get some exercise. The two of us rode about 12 miles, looping back and forth through America’s premier urban park like the old pros that we are. Old being the operative term here, yours truly wasn’t able to go much over 25 miles per hour at any point (the only point I got that fast was on the downhill south to north Skinker stretch), but it was a fun drive. Along the way we met quite a lot of people, helped tune up a bicycle and handed out cards for Studio 858, the best darn photography studio in Saint Louis.
Evening brought another Mark Glenshaw lead Owl Prowl, and although Samantha, Charles’ current hoot, was nowhere to be found, we had a great time tracking Charles and in the twilight of the day getting photos up until he flew off toward Post-Dispatch lake to grab a bite to eat.
As usual on his inimitable tours, Mr. Glenshaw (known to his friends as Mark) managed to both inform and entertain all of us in the tour group. He did very actively discourage the wearing of fur (unless, he intimated, we wanted a close encounter of the owl kind), but actively encouraged the taking of photographs. And that is what we did!
