Oh rainy day, oh rainy day,
I’m glad you’ve come, hope you don’t stay.
Sooner or later, the sun will come,
And chase you far away,
Oh rainy day, oh rainy day.
Oh rainy day, you made this puddle,
And through it with my boots I muddle,
I will splash and splash and never mind the trash,
But walk right through the middle.
Rainy days are the sort that call for a song, so I made one up as I walked through the park, stepping into the streams to get photos, and splashing through puddles just for the fun of second childhood. While these were not seven league boots, they did have a certain magical quality to them, inviting me to do the sorts of things I would usually not do (at least if others were watching). My feet were warm, I and my camera were dry (under our umbrella) and all was right with the world. And, I got photos!
